Tengizchevroil LLP - Kazakhstan’s Great Asset and Pride

On the 6th of April 1993, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Chairman of Board of US oil corporation Chevron Kenneth Derr signed an agreement for establishing a joint company Tengizchevroil. Thanks to the will and far-sighted vision of the Head of State, Kazakhstan has attracted many foreign investments to the country. One such investment became our company, Tengizchevroil - the first major investment project of independent Kazakhstan.

This year Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) celebrates its 25th Anniversary. This date is a remarkable milestone for our company highlighting a tremendous progress we have attained together with this young country in both establishing itself and achieving sustainable development - the company's success is intertwined with the success of Kazakhstan. Today’s Kazakhstan is a country that over a relatively short period of time, has gained international recognition and respect.

Tengizchevroil’ s most asset has been people, especially those high-skilled professionals who were with the company from the very beginning together with the present leadership team that continues steering TCO to its new heights. Investments into the Tengiz project development made it possible for tens of thousands of Kazakhstan citizens to learn and adopt new technologies and innovations, enjoy a unique opportunity for professional and career growth. Tengizchevroil has launched multiple programs designed to increase the Kazakhstan Content among TCO workers and managers. Thanks to the contribution of skilled, talented, highly professional and, above all, dedicated to their country and their company specialists, we managed to successfully complete a number of challenging and innovative projects such as construction and commissioning of the Second Generation Plant/Sour Gas Injection project.

TCO’s successful development and performance over the years has given it confidence to continue investing in its future. The Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP), one of the global energy industry’s largest major capital project, has commenced and is expected to increase total daily production at Tengiz by about 260,000 barrels per day, to approximately 1 million barrels of oil equivalent at peak. This next phase of Tengiz expansion, which has the direct support of the Head of State, is set to benefit the country and generations of Kazakhstani people for many years to come.
