Welcome Letters 2016

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

On behalf of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan I am pleased to welcome the participants and guests of the 15th North Caspian Regional Exhibition and Conference “Atyrau Oil & Gas”. Holding this event in Atyrau with the assistance of ministries, non-governmental associations, oil producing, consulting companies, investment institutions determines great importance of issues concerning the development of the oil and gas industry of the Republic. Today, there is a need for a fresh look at the process of exploration and development of Kazakhstan’s subsoil, applying advanced technologies and approaches. And this, in turn, implies the solution of a number of tasks in raising investments, improving the legal framework, training others.

We all should remember that mineral reserves belong to the category of non-renewable natural resources, so first of all we need to effectively use already proven reserves and work to expand the mineral resource base of Kazakhstan using advanced international practices and approaches.

I am sure that such exhibitions and conferences, where innovative technologies and developments are demonstrated, the most ambitious ideas are discussed, create a favorable atmosphere for the exchange of experience and generally stimulate the development of the industry, help to reveal the investment potential of one of the strategic regions of Kazakhstan – Atyrau region.

I wish all participants of the 15th North Caspian Regional Exhibition and Conference “Atyrau Oil & Gas” effective work, interesting discussions and fruitful cooperation.

Vladimir Shkolnik
Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

On behalf of the region’s residents and on my own behalf let me welcome the participants and guests of the exhibition as well as the Regional Oil and Gas Technology Conference “Global Oil & Gas Atyrau 2016”!

Today, when the whole world is dynamically changing international cooperation takes on particular significance. The North Caspian Regional Oil and Gas Exhibition “Global Oil & Gas Atyrau 2016” is the center of discussion of the current state and prospects of development of the oil and gas industry in western Kazakhstan. The constantly growing interest from foreign participants to the event proves its importance.

Atyrau region today is one of the richest regions of Kazakhstan for its mineral and hydrocarbon reserves. The region considerably contributes to the economy of Kazakhstan. It produces more than 20% of industrial output, produces more than 40% of crude oil, 1/5 of the country’s budget is formed there. The potential of the region is proven by the presence of a wide range of natural resources. The favorable investment climate of the country, the developed infrastructure and the favorable geographical position with access to Europe via Russia, and through the Caspian Sea to Iran and Asian countries determine its investment attractiveness.

As the Head of State N.A. Nazarbayev highlighted, the global crisis is inclusive, which has affected all economies of the world. However, the crisis is not only a danger, but also new opportunities. Therefore, such events as the annual exhibition “Atyrau Oil & Gas” should facilitate the process of integration and closer cooperation against the backdrop of fierce competition.

Today’s events in the global economy arising from the volatility of energy prices force all global players of the oil industry to optimize the costs and find ways of cooperation.

We hope that this exhibition will have a positive impact on the expansion and development of your business.

As you know, the construction industry is the locomotive of the economy, which is also gaining the strong momentum and pace of development in the various sectors and the implementation of social programs. Not without reason the President in his speeches pays special attention to the construction of housing and infrastructure projects as one of the promising areas. “Atyrau Build’ Exhibition will provide an opportunity to get to know the leading construction companies, to discuss the prospects of development and issues.

This exhibition has already become a good tradition that contributes to the expansion and strengthening of business cooperation. I wish you fruitful work and mutually beneficial contracts!

Akim of Atyrau region
B. Izmukhambetov

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, I would like to welcome all exhibitors and visitors to Аtyrau Global Oil&Gas, the 15th North Caspian regional exhibition and conference, and Аtyrau Build Kazakhstan, the 15th North Caspian regional building and interiors exhibition.

The Russian Federation is one of Kazakhstan’s strategic partners in the oil and gas sector and the presence of Russian companies at the exhibition epitomises the close historical ties linking our two countries. I would like to mention that the event’s location is quite significant: Atyrau is the oil capital of Kazakhstan and is now one of the most dynamically developing cities in the region with a great deal of investment appeal and a number of strategic projects being implemented.

This is not the first time that Аtyrau Global Oil&Gas brings together hundreds of exhibiting companies, potential investors from various countries, representatives of science, manufacturers and managers in all areas of the oil, oil refining and gas industries.

Holding Аtyrau Build Kazakhstan 2016 in such a challenging environment is particularly significant. It is the most anticipated event for our country’s building community. One major result of the exhibition is the marked improvement of the socio-economic situation in our countries overall and in individual regions. In particular, the construction of industrial facilities will provide more jobs and improve the welfare of our citizens. This vibrant event gives impetus to the development of the building materials industry and the production of building goods and structures.

Taking part in such large-scale international events enables Russian and Kazakh companies to enter valuable partnerships, summarise experience, and establish strong ties for further developing collaboration between our two countries.

I wish all exhibitors, organisers and visitors a productive time, effective cooperation, stable partnerships, and luck, prosperity and success in achieving set objectives.

Trade Representative of the
Russian Federation in the
Republic of Kazakhstan

Dear friends,

On behalf of the Kazakhstan Union of oilfield service companies let me to welcome all those attending the 15th North-Caspian Regional Atyrau Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference. I would like to thank the organizers of this event for exposure of such urgent issues, especially under the current situation on the oil and gas market.

Expansion of the hydrocarbon basis, development of oil refinery and petroleum chemistry, introduction of industrial safety and enhanced oil recovery - those processes are always accompanying the oilfield service. This industry if very multifaceted and includes a lot of sectors: such as engineering, drilling companies, companies engaged in supply of chemical, drilling fluids, equipment and spare parts for drilling equipment. Those are companies rendering services on electric installation, logistics, transportation of sophisticated and standard size loads, companies on procurement, training of technical personnel, inspection and technical assistance. Those are companies engaged in industrial construction and design, technical translation, metrology, instrumentation and controls analysis, maintenance of pipelines and production of structures, module blocks, ships and equipment.

These oilfield service companies serve as contractors for such projects, so, it is very important that all plans and goals of this conference have been met.

I wish all those attending this event fruitful cooperation for the benefit of the key region - Atyrau, and the country as a whole.

Rashid Zhaksylykov
Chairman of the Presidium of The Association of service companies of Kazakhstan

Dear exhibitors, colleagues, engineering, technical, oil and gas and welding professionals, and representatives of a wide range of the country’s technical community,

KazWeld, the Kazakhstan Welding Association is pleased to welcome you to the 15th North Caspian regional Oil&Gas exhibition, which brings together participants of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan and further afield. It is a welcoming environment that contributes to business contacts, collaboration, and contracts being made. Such exhibitions help attract domestic and international investors who contribute their capital to Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.

Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry is dynamically developing; new fields are constantly being discovered and developed. At the end of this year, production of oil and gas will begin at the Kashagan field and Tengizchevroil plans to build a third generation plant. Despite the unfavourable conditions on the raw hydrocarbon materials market, many companies in the oil and gas sector are creating plans for the future. Welding technologies and equipment are essential in constructing plants and infrastructure for developing oil and gas fields.

Welding, as a technological process of permanently uniting materials, is used in a wide range of economic sectors. It is hard to imagine an industry that does not employ welding. It is even used in industries that seem farfetched, such as in medicine for ultrasound welding of bones and other biological materials. Welding is currently used for uniting metal and non-metal construction materials, synthetic materials such as plastic and even natural materials such as rock. It is carried out not only with high temperatures, but also at room temperature – so-called cold welding. Welding is possible in air, in a vacuum and with various gases present. Products can be welded on land, under water and in space. Underwater welding is used to repair ships or pipelines on the seabed and repairing spacecrafts is possible during orbit in open space. Assembling space modules is planned by welding in a vacuum. In the near future, as we acquaint ourselves with the solar system’s planets, welding will be used for assembling structures further afield than earth.

Welding is currently used in industrial and civil construction, construction of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers, in laying oil and gas pipelines, building bridges, tunnels, paving, subways, manufacturing river and sea vessels, submarines, aircraft, helicopters, spacecraft and space station, tactical and strategic weapons etc.

Considering the significance of the welding and welding equipment sector for many types of modern production, it has been given its own exhibition sector. We would like to wish the 15th North Caspian regional Oil&Gas exhibition more excellent results and achievements. We are confident that the exhibition will act as an impetus to implementing Kazakhstan’s programme of accelerated industrial and innovative development.

Dear Participants and Guests of the events,

On behalf of Kazakhstan Exhibition Company Iteca and its partner, International company ITE Group Plc let us start by saying thank you for your participation in the event.

Today’s economic situation has been a great challenge not only for individual companies, but also for the whole industry. We, as organizers of industry events, having hundreds of completed projects and many years of experience, can state with confidence that the exhibition and conference is a clear reflection of the situation in a particular industry. During 15 years of its existence “Atyrau Oil & Gas” have witnessed the rise of many companies, which are now one of the major players both in Kazakhstan’s business and in the international arena. It is encouraging to note that most of these companies maintain their positions today.

Atyrau region has always played a significant role in the economy of Kazakhstan and now, at a critical period high expectations are placed on the region in the implementation of industrial and innovative projects designed to bring the country’s economy to a new level. In this regard, the need to hold high-quality business activities with the involvement of state authorities, domestic business and international investors continues to exist.

The dynamics of development of the region has allowed us to unite three events in one platform: “Atyrau Oil & Gas” Exhibition and Conference, as well as “Atyrau Build” Exhibition, since we wanted to create the universal platform, which could bring together all manufacturers and customers.

We would not be able to implement our plans and ideas without the support of state authorities, professional associations and sponsors. Let us therefore express our gratitude to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Local Administration of Atyrau region, the Local Administration of Atyrau city, “NC “KazMunayGas” JSC, “KazService” Association, Kazakhstan Welding Association, diplomatic missions and embassies as well as information partners for their support and participation.

We sincerely hope that the Exhibition and Conference will be held with the maximum benefit for You and wish each participant to discover new opportunities and prospects. Good luck and prosperity to You!

Best regards,
Organising Committee
