Acknowledging the results of the events, the organisers – the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca and its international partners from ITE Group Plc (UK) and GIMA (Germany) – underline the immense effect of both the exhibition and the conference.
The exhibition was traditionally held at the Atyrau Sports Complex. Atyrau Oil & Gas 2009 exhibitors included more than 100 companies from 13 countries: Azerbaijan, China, Finland, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, UK, and USA. According to the electronic registration of visitors, 3,460 specialists visited the exhibition during its three days. The conference drew 105 delegates and was held at the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel. The agenda of OilTech Kazakhstan offered reports by top management of about 20 oil and gas companies.
The high status was enhanced by participation of the following persons in the official exhibition and conference opening ceremony: Bolat Daukenov – First Deputy Atyrau Oblast Akim, Paul Brummell – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Klaas van der Tempel – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan, John L. Langler D.L. – Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Aberdeen, Suleiman Shotikbayev – Deputy Director for Production, EmbaMunaiGas, as well as heads of trade missions of the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Russia, Bulgaria, and other officials.
Bolat Daukenov, First Deputy Atyrau Oblast Akim, said, “The fast economic growth in Western Kazakhstan and the ever-growing interest of partners and investors in the region enhance business partnerships resulting in increasing the number of joint projects and new enterprises, technologies and services in the market. I am sure that Atyrau Oil & Gas 2009 will contribute in the development of a constructive dialogue between the oil and gas market players, help to successfully introduce scientific achievements and new technologies, and expand cooperation between local and foreign companies”.
Opening the exhibition, Paul Brummell, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, said: “The disturbing situation in global financial markets and increasing loan rates are also acute for Kazakhstan like for any country. The same can be said about low oil prices. In the nearest years, the economic growth rates may not achieve the level witnessed earlier in the decade. However, Kazakhstan remains an important commercial an investment partner for the United Kingdom. This is most vividly seen in the oil and gas sector. a lot of British companies – both small and bigger ones – have firmly settled in Kazakhstan. Currently, more than 100 firms are active players in the market, and most of them work jointly with their Kazakhstani partners. The steady inflow of new companies from Great Britain willing to build on their interests in Kazakhstan has kept running high during the latest difficult months. We know this because the number of requests to the commercial department of the Embassy stays high. I am happy to welcome the exhibitors and conference participants”.
“I am glad that the exhibition, being a real development indicator of the industry and the region on the whole, annually demonstrates not only advanced technologies but also how the ideas presented here are implemented”, says Marina Li, Exhibition Director.
