The competition is aimed to promote the development of the younger generation of Kazakhstan oil and gas industry intellectuals and give them a unique chance: to address representatives of major commercial companies at the leading technology conference in the North Caspian region of Kazakhstan. Admitted to the competition were student works by full-time graduates of the country's oil and gas higher education institutions.
The competition jury included: Nadir K. Nadirov, Academician of the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science (Chemistry), Professor, Merited Scientist of the Kazakh SSR, winner of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, Merited Oilman of the USSR, and Magauiya T. Cherdabayev, Doctor of Science (Economy), Professor, Academician. Academicians Nadirov and Cherdabayev noted the high level of student works submitted for the competition.
The Student Work Competition was won by Anuarbek Tadzhiyakov, a third-year student, K.I. Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University.
Day Two of the 6th OilTech Atyrau 2012 Atyrau Regional Oil & Gas Technology Conference began with the winner's report on Developing a Way of Melting Block Sulphur with the Use of Solar Energy.
