Air Astana started operations in May 2002, with three Boeing B737s serving three domestic routes but today it has grown to 20 international and 22 domestic routes transporting over 6000 passengers a day. Air Astana has since then replaced the Boeing B737s and expanded its fleet to 21 aircraft – two Boeing 767-300ER, four 757-200, two Airbus 321, seven 320, one 319 and five Fokker 50 aircraft. In less than five years Air Astana has developed an extensive route network across Europe, Asia, Russia and Middle East. The airline offers a very high standard of inflight and customer service. The airline is also a full member of IATA (International Air Transport Association), and operates to EASA/JAR safety standards. The airline has also introduced a new Internet Booking Engine offering special fares with access to over 21,000 hotels worldwide, and a frequent flyer programme – Nomad Club.
